Role description

We are undertaking an exciting new project as part of rethinking the museum and stories held within it. Our Oral History Volunteers will play a key role in providing content for the newly renovated and reinvigorated museum.

About Leach Pottery

Since 1920, the Leach Pottery in St Ives has been a centre of creative exchange, learning and collaboration across cultures and between makers. Today, the Leach Pottery Studio, Museum and Gallery continue developing Bernard Leach's historic legacy, none of which would be possible without our volunteers. As a volunteer, you will be supporting National Lottery Heritage Funded programmes. 7

What you do as a volunteer:

Meet people and interview them, record the interviews

Support the interviewees with filling in paperwork (permissions etc.)

Listen back and write up a summary of the interviews with key timings

Optional - follow up on threads of research which present themselves in the interviews

(For volunteers with editing skills) Simple formatting and editing of interviews
