Role description

Supporting older people to live later life well we have volunteering opportunities in the Camborne area. Many of our members are unable to get out and join in with community activities and feel lonely and isolated.  A visit from a befriender can be the highlight of their week, someone to have a chat with, share a laugh and enjoy some company.  We match volunteers to members depending on location, interests and needs and fully support the process throughout.  All members are assessed and risk assessments completed by trained staff.

Volunteers are required to complete an application process, including references, DBS check and training.  Volunteer applications are submitted through the MHA Central Volunteering Team and an initial enquiry can be made through the MHA website: https://www.mha.org.uk/get-involved/volunteering/roles/befriending/ - please enter Camborne in the "Town/city interested in volunteering in" box
