CCTV Volunteer Launceston
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join an existing team of dedicated CCTV volunteers who support the local policing team.
The Launceston Community CCTV Project needs more volunteers to monitor CCTV cameras. As an operator, you should:
* Be observant and recall key details of incidents.
* Assess situations to determine if police or other agencies are needed.
* Work with an experienced partner for guidance and reassurance.
* Use a police radio to report incidents clearly and efficiently.
Operators are required twice a month, on Saturdays from 21:00 to 01:00 at Launceston Police Station. A monthly rota helps schedule shifts. Most volunteers work in pairs to ensure nothing is missed and to stay engaged during quieter periods. Your presence helps keep our town centre safe and reassures the community.
Travelling expenses will be reimbursed with mileage is paid at 45p per mile. Applicants should live within a 25 mile radius of their allocated station.
Applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to attend an informal interview which may be in person or online. After this, successful applicants will then be subjected to the police vetting procedure. This is a requirement that everyone is asked to undertake when working alongside the police service.
