Role description

This role involves sharing the Cathedral's ministry of welcome, being a visible presence, interpreting the building and its significance for the Christian faith.  You will need to be friendly and approachable and ready to direct visitors to appropriate people for information.  You should be available for visitors to speak to and ready to listen and offer spiritual advice and counsel where appropriate.  You will be required to focus thoughts and prayers on the hour simply and briefly as directed.

Excellent communication and pastoral skills are required for this role and you must have a welcoming, friendly, non-judgmental and approachable manner with a positive disposition and willingness to engage with all visitors.

A Bishop's Licence or approval by Chapter is required for this role.

Flexible shifts are available and training will be given.
