Cornwall Army Cadets - Volunteers

Local Area
North Cornwall (Bude, Wadebridge & Bodmin & in between)
Role description

JOIN TODAY!

Cornwall ACF are seeking Young People from the age of 12 and in Year 8 to join us for adventure, fun, friendships and skills for life.

We are also seeking Adult Instructors to join us to develop the local Young People, as well as learning new skills and gaining additional qualifications for yourself!

If you're up for a challenge you'll go further with the Army Cadet Force.

We are currently looking for more volunteers (particularly those with the drive to become officers) who are interested in inspiring and leading young people from their local communities.

The Army Cadets is generously sponsored by the Army - and our cadets and adult volunteers wear uniforms, proudly subscribe to the Army’s values and standards and follow a similar rank structure. However, as we are not part of the Army, we recruit volunteers from a range of backgrounds, including managers, mothers, factory supervisors, engineers and designers as well as former soldiers. What we’re looking for are volunteers with the right skills and personal qualities to work with young people and a commitment to passing on their knowledge and experience to the next generation.

Many volunteers with a military background excel in helping us to deliver the broad range of adventurous and military themed activities our cadets really love.

WHY VOLUNTEER?

Volunteering can be an excellent way of gaining new skills or developing talents and knowledge that you already have. For some it is an opportunity to give something back to the local community, or to make a difference for young people. It is also a fantastic way of gaining transferrable skills which will benefit you in your career. Above all, it’s a great way to have fun and meet new people!

Our volunteers consistently give the Army Cadets top marks for fun and friendship, for giving them the opportunity to develop new skills and for the pleasure they get from helping young people in their communities – so the benefits are not all one way.

So if you think you could give up one to two evenings a week and want to do something really rewarding with your free time the Army Cadets would love to hear from you.

Please bear in mind that the Army Cadets is a voluntary youth organisation and you will need to complete some familiarisation and assessment training. Because the Army Cadets isn't the Army, we want to be sure you understand our ethos as a youth organisation so we can provide a successful and rewarding outcome for you, the Army Cadets and the youngsters in your charge.

Serving members of the Regular Armed Forces aren’t eligible to volunteer with us but can help out as Service Helpers with permission from their Commanding Officer (members of the Army Reserve need consent in writing from the Army Personnel Centre).
