Specific qualifications are not essential, however previous experience of working with young people (13-18yrs old) and using social media is advantageous. There is also a requirement to understand and respect diversity and equality and be a confident communicator.

Whilst performing the role of a VPC Leader, you will gain valuable skills and qualities of which can be applied in a variety of situations, you will feel part of a team, you will build a ‘feel good’ factor as a volunteer for the police and there may also be the opportunity for you to gain qualifications and knowledge whilst supporting the leadership of the VPC group.

Please visit the VPC website for further information on the cadets: https://vpc.police.uk/

Training and support will be given throughout the role. Full, clean driving licence is beneficial for the role or good local links to get to and from the Police stations. Mileage expenses will be paid at 45p per mile.
