Event Volunteers Needed for Mikes Motor Mania, 26th July
Volunteer Appeal – Can You Help?
We're reaching out to our wonderful community to ask if anyone would be willing to spare a few hours on Sunday, 26th July to help us ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.
Unfortunately, we've just received the news that the youth organisation who had kindly offered to help with marshalling and event support at MIKES Motor Mania 2026 has had to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances.
As MIKES Motor Mania continues to grow bigger and busier every year, it's becoming increasingly difficult to run the event smoothly with the small number of amazing volunteers who support us each year.
As a thank you, we'll provide:
- Camping at Spitfire Park Campsite on the night before the event
- Dinner on the Saturday evening
- Breakfast on the morning of the event
If you're 16 or over, kind-hearted, and able to step in at such short notice, we'd be incredibly grateful. Please send us a message if you'd like to help.

MIKES Trust is a Cornish charity founded in memory of Michael Riddiough-Allen, who was tragically killed defending others from knife crime in Bodmin in 2023. The trust focuses on knife crime prevention, educational workshops in local schools, and rolling out emergency bleed control kits across the county.
The charity operates out of Bodmin and partners with Devon and Cornwall Police to educate youth on the dangers of carrying knives. Some of their core initiatives include:
- Educational Workshops: Delivering hard-hitting, preventative talks at local schools like Bodmin College and youth hubs.
- Bleed Control Kits: Supplying life-saving kits placed inside hundreds of Duchy Defibrillator cabinets across Cornwall.
- Community Events: Hosting the annual "MIKES Motor Mania"—a car festival celebrating Michael's love for cars, surfing, and rugby—to raise awareness.
- Local Support: Providing equipment, food, and funding to youth sports initiatives, such as the Bodmin Youth Darts Academy.
