Events Volunteer
Be part of the live experience
If you enjoy being around events and people, this is a good place to start. You’ll help things run smoothly and be part of the team that creates a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere for audiences.
It’s hands-on and varied. One moment you might be greeting people at the door, the next helping set up the space or serving drinks.
On a typical shift you might:
- welcome audiences and check tickets
- serve drinks and refreshments
- keep the space running smoothly during the event
- help people find seats and get settled
- support set up and pack down
You don’t need experience, but it helps if you’re friendly, reliable, and able to work as part of a team and on your own. There’s always an Event Supervisor on shift to help guide things.
Events usually take place in the evenings and at weekends (mostly Fridays and Saturdays plus the occasional matinee), with shifts lasting around 3–4 hours. You can sign up to support specific events, both at The Old Library and occasionally in other locations across Bodmin.
You’ll get to experience a varied cultural programme — from theatre and music to more experimental or participatory work. We’ll usually sort a drink for you during the event, and you’ll get a café and ticket discount too.
intoBodmin is a Community Interest Company that owns and manages The Old Library, a beautifully refurbished community building in the heart of Bodmin.
We host creative, cultural and wellbeing-focused activities, programmes and events, both at The Old Library and out in the wider community. Every day is different: upstairs you’ll find offices and co-working spaces, downstairs there’s a café, and in the evenings the building often transforms into a stage and events space.
Our daily programme includes everything from therapy groups, choirs and chair yoga to creative companion groups and other uplifting community activities.
