VOLUNTEER PROJECTS
The Oral History Project
Since 2002, Geevor has been compiling an oral record of miners, surface workers and other member of the local community. Our volunteers record these fascinating memories, stories and anecdotes.
Engineering and machinery restoration projects
Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team have restored to working order rock drills and muckers that work under compressed air. They are now working on a project to get locomotives operating again.
Event Supervisors
Our event programme is constantly expanding and we are on the lookout for volunteers wishing to get involved in supervising events such as hand drilling,, art projects or even storytelling to our younger visitors.
Object cataloguing and archiving
Geevor has a collection of many thousands of objects in need of cataloguing and conservation, and we’d love to hear from you if you could help with this.
