Volunteer Role: Christmas Tree Festival Helper – St Petroc’s Church, Bodmin
Purpose of Role: To help create a warm, welcoming, and festive atmosphere for all visitors, ensuring the Christmas Tree Festival runs smoothly and successfully in support of the church’s fundraising and community mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming Visitors: Greet guests at the entrance with a smile, offer information about the festival, and answer any basic questions.
- Serving Refreshments: Assist with preparing, serving, and tidying away teas, coffees, and other light refreshments.
- Raffle Support: Sell raffle tickets, explain prizes, and encourage participation.
- Encouraging Donations: Politely highlight opportunities to donate towards church funds and thank visitors for their generosity.
- Watering Trees: Help maintain the Christmas trees on display by checking water levels and topping up as needed.
- General Support: Lend a hand with small tasks as required to keep the festival running smoothly.
Skills & Qualities:
- Friendly, welcoming, and approachable manner
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working with people of all ages
- Team player, flexible, and willing to “muck in”
- Reliability and punctuality
Time Commitment:
Flexible shifts available across the festival dates 6th December – 21st December 2025 (excluding Thursdays and Sundays). Volunteers can sign up for mornings (10-1), afternoons (1-4), or full days (10-4) depending on availability.
Training & Support:
All volunteers will receive a briefing before their shift, with guidance from the festival coordinator and experienced helpers.

St. Petroc's Church - We carry with us 1500 years of faith here in Bodmin. Our 15th century church is one of the 300 Major Churches of England, and the largest in Cornwall. We are very active in the community and provide space for concerts, events and groups. We love to welcome people for their family or civic celebrations. Sunday morning worship is at 10am. Everyone is welcome.
