Role description

Discovering42 is a multi-award-winning Science and Sustainability Museum based in Bodmin, internationally recognised for our pioneering sustainable exhibits and workshops that encourage resourcefulness through the inventive use of upcycled materials.

We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals of all ages who share our passion for community, sustainability, art, or science to join our volunteer team. Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to gain hands-on experience in a unique museum setting, we’d love your support!

Variety of Volunteer Roles Available:

 

* Museum Visitor Experience: Engage with visitors and provide an unforgettable experience for all.

* Workshop Assistant: Help run interactive workshops that engage our community in science, sustainability, and art.

* Cafe Support: Help out in our eco-friendly café, including to serve our unusual Magic Mocktails.

* Event Support: Be part of the action by helping to prepare for exciting museum events across Cornwall.

* Grant Writing & Fundraiser: Support with funding grants and fundraising for exciting future projects and initiatives.

* Social Media Assistant: Promoting Discovering42 through creative content and engagement.

* Exhibit Design & Build Team: Get involved in the creative process by helping design and construct unusual, hands-on upcycled exhibits.

* Makerspace Technician: Assist in developing our Makerspace, supporting users with equipment and helping to create new projects.
