Role description

Do you enjoy organising events and are keen to raise money for a great cause? Could you bring together a group of your friends/family or local contacts to form a fundraising group and put on fun events in your local community?

We’re looking for Fundraising Group Leaders to help create and run a Fundraising Group. A Fundraising Group helps to promote the work of The Children’s Society to local communities and inspire people to take action to transform the lives of young people.

Fundraising Groups play a vital role in helping us reach our goal of overturning the damaging decline in children’s well-being. By raising awareness of the issues facing young people and organising Fundraising and awareness events they bring the community together while increasing the charities profile in the local area.

Fundraising Groups plan their own activities and share responsibilities so, alongside leading the group, activities for this role could include; Event Management, Marketing, Finance (counting and banking money).

This is a great opportunity for an organised, friendly and outgoing person to gain experience of leadership and event management whilst making a real difference to the lives of young people.

All of our Volunteer Fundraising Groups are supported by a Local Community Relationship Manager, who is on hand to provide information and guidance.
