Kitchen Volunteer

OVERVIEW

The Old Library Café is open Wednesday to Friday 9am to 2pm and serves light lunches, cakes and drinks. It is run by a small team with 2 paid members of staff and a small team of volunteers.

As a Kitchen Volunteer you will be helping in the kitchen over lunchtime service to ensure that food served quickly and to a consistent and high standard.  You can read more about the cafe HERE

Being a Kitchen Volunteer will include:

• Preparing food in accordance with the lunch menu
• Taking food to the tables
• Carrying out the washing up, including using the dishwasher and washing up when needed.
• Ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy at the end of the day.

Skills, Qualities & Experiences we are looking for:

• Some experience of preparing fresh food would be useful but mostly an interest in food.

We will:

• Train you to work in the kitchen and help you complete the company induction

• Put you through additional training as required such as Level 2 food safety

Hours Available:  Wednesday and/or Thursday -

3 hour shifts

12pm to 3pm.

Length of role:  We would like a one shift per week minimum commitment, if possible
