Minimum Age

Role description

We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) situated in Truro, serving an area of Mid-Cornwall Helston, Redruth and Camborne to St Austell, from Falmouth to Perranport and Newquay and villages, towns and points in between.

Formed a year ago, we aim to act as a hub for all the many outstanding local, environmental and climate-related organizations, businesses, college and university departments, local government, town and parish councils and Mid-Cornwall’s diverse community to interact, network, learn and make connections.

We provide a space where the community can find out about the many challenges facing us in a variety of ways. Through a range of projects, events and activities we bring people together to counter the impact of these challenges, build resilience and act to mitigate the connected issues of Climate, Nature and Cost-of-Living Crises.

As a director, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the Hub, take on responsibilities suitable to your experience and interests and find a rewarding way to help the community move towards a more sustainable future.

As a director you will have:

  • A commitment to the organisation and its ethos
  • A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
  • Good, independent judgement
  • A willingness to engage in outreach
  • An ability to think creatively and/or practically
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of a Community Interest Company.
  • An ability to work effectively as a member of a team

We are aware that as a team, each of us brings a unique mix of strengths and experience and between us all, this finds its balance.

Experience in the following areas would be particularly useful:

Fundraising, Finance, Admin, Promotion and Marketing, Outreach and Business Skills, etc.

Previous interest and experience of working in this sector would be welcome

We would like to hear from you and invite you to send us an outline of your background, interest in joining our team and what you believe you would bring to this vital work.
