Role description

We are currently looking for volunteers to be able to cover the cafe between Monday-Friday.

Do you enjoy meeting people, being part of a team and feel that you can enhance our clients and visitors experience?

We are currently looking for extra cafe volunteers to cover for holidays and sickness, as well as our main opening hours. Our cafe is small but incredibly popular and is staffed 100% by a fantastic team of volunteers.

This is a very social role and you will be instrumental in ensuring that everyone who visits the cafe has a positive experience.

Due to the expansion of our opening hours, we are looking for new team members to help with the following

  • Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks along side our selection of hot and cold sandwiches, toasted tea cakes and jacket potatoes.
  • Serving our varied and delicious selection of fresh cakes
  • Taking payment for any drinks or food purchased
  • Clearing and cleaning tables and ensuring that the cafe area is always kept clean and tidy at all times in compliance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Experience in food preparation or service would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.  Food hygiene Level 2 and Allergen training is mandatory for this role.  This can be completed on-line and can be carried out on our premises if needs be.

Who would this role suit

  • Someone who enjoys helping others and wants to help a good cause.
  • A friendly and caring person who enjoys connecting with others.
  • Someone with good hygiene standard and an interest/experience in food service and preparation.
  • Anyone with a little spare time who wants to make a difference – even just a few hours each week can be valuable!
