Volunteer Drivers

We are looking for experienced and friendly drivers to support our clients on their journeys to and from the centre.  At Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre we believe that everyone should be able to benefit from our amazing treatments and services.  We are able to provide a small pre-booked transport service at a reduced cost to some of our clients in our adapted vehicle. 

If you enjoy being out on the open road and meeting people this could be the volunteer position for you.    

Our pick ups generally start at around 9am for a couple of hours and the return journeys usually start around 1pm finishing by 3pm.  This can vary though depending on the day and on demand.   

We do not expect our volunteer drivers to commit to the whole day if they do not want to however if you wanted to stay with us between pick ups and drop offs you are welcome to stay and enjoy our community cafe or help out in other departments.  Alternatively you can go home between sessions.  We would also welcome people who can only do either pick ups or drop offs. 

The role will involve 

• Collecting the car from Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre in Hewas Water.
• Conducting a check around the vehicle and reporting any defects or issues.
• There may be times when you need to get fuel while out and about but a fuel card is provided.
• Carrying out secure pick ups of our clients.  Some of our clients are in wheelchairs so an experience in securing these into a vehicle would be an advantage but not essential, training will be given.
• Collecting our clients after their treatments from our centre and returning them safely home. 

This role would suit  

• Someone who enjoys helping others and wants to help a good cause.
• A friendly and caring person who enjoys connecting with others.
• A confident driver with a full driving license.
• Someone who is physically able to help our clients in and out of the vehicle.
• Unfortunately due to our insurance we are not covered for any drivers over the age of 80. However please do not let that stop you from volunteering with us, we will find you something else to do within the centre.
