Role description

The Opportunity

This is a flexible volunteer role for someone who already has experience in fundraising, partnership development, business development, income generation, or charity fundraising.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, identify opportunities, and take ownership of fundraising activity with minimal day-to-day supervision.

You will work directly with the Founder and Director, with regular check-ins and strategic support, but this is not a role requiring close management. We are seeking someone who enjoys taking initiative and turning ideas into action.

The role is primarily remote, with occasional meetings in Cornwall or online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant, trust, foundation, corporate, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential funders and partners.
  • Prepare and submit funding applications and expressions of interest.
  • Explore corporate sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
  • Support the development of fundraising campaigns and community fundraising initiatives.
  • Create compelling cases for support and fundraising materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of fundraising activity and outcomes.
  • Help shape THAW's longer-term income generation strategy.
  • Act as an ambassador for THAW and our mission.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in fundraising, income generation, partnership development, sales, business development, or sponsorship.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Confidence building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Good organisational and project management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equality, and neuroaffirming practice.

Desirable

  • Experience securing grant funding.
  • Experience working within a charity, CIC, social enterprise, or community organisation.
  • Understanding of ADHD, neurodivergence, women's health, or mental health.
  • Experience developing corporate partnerships or sponsorship opportunities.
  • Existing networks within Cornwall or the wider South West.

What You'll Gain

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to women with ADHD.
  • A key leadership role within a growing social impact organisation.
  • Flexibility around when and where you volunteer.
  • The chance to shape fundraising strategy from the ground up.
  • References and recognition for your contribution.
  • The opportunity to develop new partnerships and create lasting social impact.

Time Commitment: Approximately 1 day per week (flexible)

Location: Remote / Hybrid (Cornwall-based meetings optional)

Expenses: Reasonable agreed expenses reimbursed.

Organisation Information

About That ADHD Woman CIC

That ADHD Woman CIC (THAW) supports women with ADHD—diagnosed, awaiting assessment, or exploring whether ADHD may be part of their experience—through peer support, education, practical strategies, and community connection.

Founded by former teacher and social policy researcher Kath Irvine following her own late ADHD diagnosis, THAW exists to bridge the gap between diagnosis and meaningful support. We work directly with women across the UK while also supporting employers, health partners, and community organisations to become more neuroinclusive.

Following recent funding success and growing demand for our services, we are looking for an experienced volunteer to help us develop sustainable fundraising and partnership opportunities.
