Last Chance Hotel - Volunteer

The Last Chance Hotel is a dog rescue based in Cornwall.

We do not have our own rescue centre, but use a network of foster homes across the county. We do use some kennel space, but we prefer foster homes as the dog can be assessed in a home environment and we can work out the best sort of home that the dog can be matched to.

How you can help - Volunteer

It takes a lot of volunteers to run an animal rescue and we are always keen to find more volunteers. You don't have to dedicate all your time to the charity, just whatever time you can spare would be great. Here are just some of the ways you can help us by volunteering, but if you feel you have a skill that would benefit LCH then please do get in touch with us at info@lastchancehotel.org

Pets at Home Events
We often hold "Meet & Greet" events at Pets at Home in Pool, Bodmin & St Austell. Volunteers are always needed at these events to hand out leaflets, talk to customers, offer information about LCH. Just a couple of hours at the weekend would be great.

Behind the Scenes
Whilst we have volunteers that are "hands on" when it comes to collecting dogs, taking them to vets and generally "dealing" with the dogs, we also have many volunteers behind the scenes. The amount of admin involved in running a rescue is immense. Volunteers take care of social media, website, marketing, poster and leaflet drops and fundraising. We also have people on the look out for available grants and bid writers. If you have any skills to offer behind the scenes to allow the "hands on" volunteers more time with the dogs then please do get in touch.

Transport Runs
We always need volunteers to transport animals and to do homechecks for us. This is great for people who may not be in a position to foster a dog from us. Please email us to find out more.

Spread the word
One of the most important ways to help us is to get the word out there! We rely on social media to advertise out dogs to a wider audience, so by liking and sharing our page and our posts it can help greatly.
