Hidden Help - Delivery Drivers

Hidden Help’s vision is really very simple. We believe that everything a person needs already exists within their communities; we just have to find it and redistribute it. By collecting donations of serviceable household goods we are able to repair, up-cycle and then redistribute them to those that are in urgent need.

Role: Delivery Drivers (can be combined with other HH roles eg Warehouse person)

Location: from the warehouse in Bissoe to any location across Cornwall

Time commitment: at least 1 day a week

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Drive the Hidden Help van
• Collect local donations and store in the HH warehouse
• Deliver goods to people’s houses, with at least one other HH person (staff or helper)
• Help to install the goods in the person’s house
• Maintain client confidentiality and be discreet at all times
• Re-fuel the van as needed using the Fuel Card
• Clean the van when required
• Treat the van with respect ensuring it remains in good order
• Be an ambassador for HH at all times, remembering you represent the charity

Skills & Experience:

• A clean driving licence – as you will be driving the HH van
• Ability to get on with people – as HH works as a team
• Discretion and understanding – as HH supports really vulnerable people
• Initiative and common sense – as you may be on your own for some tasks
• A good level of fitness – as some of the items may be heavy or bulky

Other Essentials:

• A basic DBS check (arranged by HH)

Training & Support Provided:

• Safeguarding & 3 yearly refreshers
• Access to HH designated safeguarding officers
• Shadowing and on the job training
• Manual handling and First Aid training
