Role description

Volunteers play a vital role in our warehouse in St Austell, which sorts and redistributes stock to our shops across Cornwall. The warehouse is also home to the eBay, online books and New Goods teams who are assisted by a small team of volunteers.

New Goods Volunteer

As part of income generation Cornwall Hospice Care sells a variety of new goods, including jewellery, greetings cards and corporate merchandise. The new goods volunteer is a member of the team based at Holmbush, St Austell, reporting to the Trading Manager and helping to prepare and package items for sending to the hospice shops.

Your role

• Checking incoming stock

• Pricing goods for sale in hospice shops

• De-branding new items

• Packing stock for sending to hospice shops

Your qualities

You need no special experience to work as a new goods volunteer but the following qualities are important:

• Flexibility – role as and when required

• The ability to work as part of a team

• A readiness to undertake relevant training

• An ability to undertake tasks as set by the Trading Manager

• An interest in helping to raise money for Cornwall Hospice Care
