Repair Cafe Volunteers

Are you good at tinkering and fixing things that would otherwise end up at the dump? We need your skills at the monthly Repair Cafe where we aim to repair small household items. This is good for us all as it saves money, plus we learn skills from each other and save the planet by reducing the amount of new stuff we need to buy. So far we have offered bike repairs and maintenance along with small sewing repairs and adjustments. It would be great to build our areas of expertise such as small electrical items.

This FREE Repair Service is on the second Saturday of each month from 3pm at Hayle Day Centre. We need more volunteers that have skills in repairing small household items and clothing, especially small electrical items. We have offered bike repairs, clothing repairs and also encourage swaps of small items such as clothing, plants, books and more.

Vounteers will not be expected to attend every Saturday as we will have a rota. You may also be involved in making teas & coffes, plus cleaning and tidying up after the repair cafe.

We are looking for friendly people that enjoy chatting with people as well as those that are capable of fixing things. The venue is fully accessible and has parking outside and it is a short walk from bus and train lines.

Sustainable Hayle is a small group of volunteers that aim to bring together the community of Hayle to improve its sustainability and resilience, working towards a flourishing town, happy people, and a healthy planet.
