Why we want you

Our RSPB Local Groups are made up of amazing people from local communities who are passionate about saving nature. Local Group volunteers lead a range of activities from outdoor walks and indoor talks, to fun community or fundraising events plus campaigning to help inspire, educate and mobilise more people to connect to and save their local wildlife and nature in the UK. There are over 160 groups operating across the UK with a variety of skills and expertise that are always looking for someone new to join their mission!

This is a great role if you want to volunteer from home and have flexibility in your time commitment.

What you will be doing

  • Support with ad hoc tasks of running the group as needed and based on your capacity.
  • Participate in decision making regarding the indoor and outdoor event programmes.
  • Help the group grow and achieve its aims.

The skills you need

  • Willingness and ability to help with one or more of the varied activities of our RSPB local groups.
  • Be reliable and approachable.
  • Work well in teams.
  • Enthusiasm and openness to trying new things.

What's in it for you

  • RSPB Local Groups give you the chance to meet new people and build friendships with others who share a common interest in protecting our wildlife. This is an opportunity to try new things and use your skills to make a valuable contribution to the behind-the-scenes work of your RSPB Local Group.
  • Appropriate training and support will be provided.
