Tree Care Volunteers
Tree Planting & Tree Care as a Climate & Nature Recovery Action (no experience needed)
From the Autumn through until mid Summer we welcome new volunteers to our volunteer-led Tree Group. They meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month for tree planting, mulching, bramble clearing etc. Meet in the farmyard at 1:50pm ready to start at 2pm. Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult or please contact us in advance to set up a placement with the necessary parental consents and travel arrangements etc. No prior experience needed, full training will be given. Saplings are only thin 'whips' when they are young, so it is not very difficult to dig a small hole to plant them, why not give it a go! This is a great opportunity to take practical action on climate at a local level and connect with like-minded people from all walks of life both locally and from elsewhere in the world. Read more about our Tree Group here: Trees - Bosavern Community Farm and listen to our Twist & Sprout Tree Episode here: Twist & Sprout – the Bosavern Farm podcast
There is a whatsapp group for our tree volunteers where you can stay closely updated on any weather-changes to plans. Email Terry to join on tezsut@hotmail.com and complete our volunteering registration form here. Please bring along sturdy shoes (walking boots or wellies), weather appropriate hat / layers, keeping arms and legs covered, plus waterproofs just in case! We do have spare supplies of waterproofs and wellies on site but sizes can be limited. We may have bursaries available for local volunteers to help with travel costs and PPE - please get in touch if needed.
