Minimum Age

Role description

We're looking for friendly, reliable people to visit an isolated elderly person once a week for around an hour.

Our befriending service has been running for many years and we have befreinded over 500+ isolated elderly folk. However, after a difficult couple of years of being unable to operate out face to face service we're now having to put people on a waiting list to be befriended.

Isolation affects a huge proportion of the elderly community and now more than ever we're seeing people cut off from friends and family. Can you spare an hour a week to change someone's life?

We are on the lookout for active volunteers who are able to visit or telephone an isolated elderly person once a week.

If you can't commit to regular volunteering, we still have a role for you! We're a tiny team so we're always looking for volunteers to help with :

  • Clubs and Classes
  • Admin and Marketing
  • Fundraising
  • Befriending
  • Transport
  • Board members and Trustees
