Role description

We are looking for volunteers for Tuesday, Wednesday or Fridays at our beautiful charity shop 8 Cathedral Lane in Truro.

Each volunteer will be with a member of CLEAR’s team and we would like them to work a minimum of a 2hr shift or can work up to half or full day if they wish to, we are really happy for each person to do what they can and we can arrange a rota to ensure we always have a minimum of two people in the shop at any time of trading.

The charity shop opens on the following days:

  • Tuesdays
  • Wednesdays
  • Fridays

As a volunteer with our charity shop, your role will involve:

  • Supporting the opening and closing procedures of the shop.
  • Greeting people using our shop or accessing our space for training, workshops with the shop space allocated for this.
  • Having an understanding of our charity and promotion of our purpose and services we offer.
  • Managing sales and recording of the same.
  • Managing stock levels.
  • Supporting safe practices / health and safety / security within the shop.
  • Supporting cleaning of the shop.

Volunteers would be reimbursed travelling expenses and will also receive an induction, Bystander Training and have access to any some of our other courses if space allows.

We can also offer safeguarding training and Mental Health First Aid if someone is volunteering for work experience to support them in their progression in getting back to work as they are very useful qualifications to have.
