Volunteer donation sorter
Job Purpose:
To support the charity through its retail shops. To work in stock preparation, sorting donations ensuring it is fit for sale before it goes into the designated areas in the stockroom. To correctly recycle items that are not fit for sale and preparing items that we do not sell to go to local charity shops.
Essential duties/ responsibilities:
To work to set standards of stock preparation, ensuring all stock is sale worthy
To ensure the stockroom is kept in a safe, organised and tidy manner. That all stock is stored well
To empty the designated donation area and process the donations.
To ensure all over stock and out of season items are labelled and stored correctly.
To ensure all recycling is placed in the correct bins and emptied when needed, then placed in the correct bin units at the back of the store in the car park
Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:
Good time keeping skills.
Good communication skills
Being able to work as part of a team, as well as on your own
Display enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Excellent organisational skills
Understand and support the aims of the charity.
Ability to use own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks
Knowledge of recycling
Experience with sorting donations (not essential)
This role is purely voluntary and this agreement is not meant to be legally binding or a contract of employment
