Role description

Volunteer Drivers provide a vital service and helping isolated and vulnerable people get to where they need to be. We transport people on behalf of a range of charities, community groups and organisations including Action for Children; Carefree; the Wave Project; Chaos and many more! We have taken people to surfing activities, days out, and special occasions.

Every year we help around 50,000 people in Cornwall get to recreational and educational activities, hospital and medical appointments, visit family and attend important events.

Thinking of being a part of this driving force across Cornwall? Volunteer Cornwall’s transport team can always use more volunteers - whether you are interested in driving members of the public on a daily basis, or becoming a trained up minibus driver and helping other charities and organisations we would love to hear from you.

Being one of our network of Volunteer Drivers is a flexible way to volunteer. It can fit around other commitments and connects you with people throughout your community whilst providing a lifeline to those without transport. Give as much or as little as you like, every journey you can help us with will make a real difference.

We will give you training in driving with passengers' wellbeing in mind, and in safeguarding vulnerable people and we will reimburse your mileage and other reasonable expenses.

If you'd like to talk to one of our team about the role, contact us on 01872 265300.
