Role description

The gardening team aims to enhance the cathedral's green spaces in a sensitive way in line with the cathedral's commitment to the care of creation, and to reduce its carbon footprint.

Duties:

Using own equipment to mow the lawn of the cathedral green, trimming the edges and removing weeds if necessary.  The arisings to be mulched to minimise waste.

Skills & Knowledge:

A basic knowledge of gardening and lawn maintenance.  

The ability to work within a team and also to be able to work on own initiative.

An understanding of the purpose of the cathedral as a place of worship.

An ability to relate to occasional members of the public in a pleasant and welcoming way, whilst continuing to work.

Training will be arranged to cover all aspects of this role including safeguarding, health and safety and security.
