Volunteer Guides and Stewards
Carnglaze Caverns was once Cornwall’s only slate mine and as such, plays an important part in the counties mining heritage. It’s also a unique site for events and sits within 8 acres of woodland on the edge of Bodmin Moor, in Cornwall.
Ahead of one of our busiest times of the year, we’re looking for volunteer guides and stewards to help our visitors and give them an unforgettable experience during their time with us.
Do you have an interest in the local area? Are you fascinated by the history and even the folklore of Cornwall? Do you know what a Piskie is?!!!
If you do and also love interacting with people, are confident and can think on your feet, why not become part of the team here at Carnglaze Caverns and help out as a volunteer guide or steward?
Our volunteer guide roles can either be static at certain key points across our site or taking small groups through our site, including our woodland walk and of course the caverns themselves.
All of our volunteers must be aged 18 or over, however work experience positions for people younger than this are also considered.
Experience at a similar site or in a similar role is great but full training can be provided.
For more information and to enquire about applying for the role please contact hello@carnglaze.com
