Volunteer Recruitment Champion (VRC)  - Cornwall District Sea Cadets

Availability: Part-time, Flexible, Volunteer, remote working available

Are you looking to volunteer but have limited spare time? Would you like to make a difference to a charity without having to leave your home? Helping to recruit new volunteers for the Sea Cadets across Cornwall District could be the role for you!

The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities.

Cornwall District Sea Cadets is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteer Recruitment Champion.

The charity is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can support the recruitment of new volunteers. There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role. This role can be divided between volunteers so why not come along with a friend and share the experience?

 

The tasks of a Volunteer Recruitment Champion include but are not restricted to the following:

· Place adverts for roles that the unit require - on Indeed, Reach and other local recruitment platforms

· Relay any applicant information back to the relevant personnel

· Monitor the recruitment platforms for about 20 minutes a week

· Keep in contact with the District Officer, Commanding Officer and Chair to inform them of any updates

 

About you: Having some computer skills is beneficial, although having the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are the most important things!

If successful, you will need to undergo an interview and receive some initial training that would take between 2-4 hours over the course of a month. From then on, only 20 minutes a week (or every other week if there are two VRCs) would need to be given.
