Getting Involved

Being a non-profit CIC organisation, volunteers are at the core of Youth Art Connect. YAC offers volunteer opportunities for every age and level of experience. Volunteers prepare the space for each session by setting up tables, chairs, easels, paint pots, performing administrative tasks, chatting to the young people and helping clean up. There are over 10 Volunteers in our crew to lend a hand to YAC staff during the year.

We provide comprehensive training and support and fully enhanced DBS for all our volunteers and travel expenses are also paid.

How to Volunteer

Volunteers may work at YAC main Sessions in Newquay or St Merryn or at our pop up events around Cornwall. Our volunteers are always supported by the directors Siobhan and Marie who are friendly and approachable and always willing to fill out any forms or references should you need one for future work and interviews.

All volunteers will need to do an enhanced DBS check which we pay for, but you will need two forms of ID to complete this.
